Our Story
In 2024, Liam and Victoria, the owners of Inspired Events, had a simple dream—to create a magical pumpkin experience where families across East Kilbride could come together and make lasting autumn memories. Planning for our very first Pumpkin Trail began in June 2024, with an ambitious goal of opening just a few months later in August. Before moving forward, we shared our idea on social media to see if there was interest from the local community. The response was beyond anything we could have imagined. Within hours, thousands of people were engaging with our posts. Our phones were constantly ringing with enquiries, and even companies such as Wowcher and itison got in touch. It quickly became clear that East Kilbride was ready for a family pumpkin event, and we knew we had to make it happen. Our next step was meeting with the local council to discuss our vision and the possibility of hosting the event at Calderglen Country Park. After presenting our plans, we secured the perfect venue and immediately got to work.
We partnered with local farms to source thousands of pumpkins, organised transport and logistics, and carefully planned every detail to create a truly memorable experience. We decided to run the event throughout the October school holidays, including both weekends, with tickets launching in August. On the evening of the ticket release, we sat together at home, refreshing our booking system and wondering if people would actually buy tickets. What happened next completely exceeded our expectations. As the launch countdown reached zero, thousands of people were already waiting on our website. Within just two minutes the site crashed due to the overwhelming demand. Once it was back online, every single ticket sold out in only six minutes. We were absolutely amazed. When the event finally opened, seeing so many smiling faces enjoying the trail made every late night and every challenge worthwhile. The feedback from families was incredible, and we were so proud that, as a young couple, we had successfully created and delivered such a large-scale event in just eight weeks. As soon as the 2024 event came to an end, we began planning for an even bigger and better 2025. We introduced exciting new features, enhanced the visitor experience, and made improvements across the entire trail. Once again, the response was phenomenal, with every ticket selling out in just 13 minutes. Now, we're preparing for our biggest Pumpkin Trail yet. This year, we're introducing magical evening sessions, even more family games, additional photo opportunities, exciting scavenger hunts, and plenty of new surprises along the way. What started as a dream between two passionate event organisers has grown into a much-loved annual tradition, and we can't wait to welcome even more families to make unforgettable memories with us this autumn.
